…is the founder, producer and creative director at JWP.tv worked as a camera assistant and production manager in the 1990s, learning production processes and creative methods from the likes of Howard Guard and Geoff Stark on high profile advertising campaigns, for British Rail, Virgin Atlantic and Nissan.
Contracted to film the construction of a landmark building in Bishopsgate, London, over a two year period, James went beyond the scope of the project to produce short form videos giving an insight behind the scenes. This opened up a career in ‘making-of’ style programmes and also led to making EPKs (electronic press kits) for TV shows such Kay Mellor’s Girlfriends and Love, Lies & Records; and comedian Roisin Conalty’s GameFace.
James used his producing skills to collaborate on indie filmmaking projects: two shorts – Secret Love and Bait; and comedy pilot Off Grid – Grasp the Nettle.
JWP was set up in 1997 to plug a hole in the corporate video market, where creating ‘broadcast standard’ productions you would need multiple camera crew and producers at great expense. We were one of the first to coin the self-shooting style that has now become ubiquitous in the world of video content generation, and so provide a much more efficient, high end video production service.
JWP today produce a variety of work including branded content, EPK’s, behind-the-scenes and TV style content for major brands.
James Ward, Founder, Producer and Creative Director at JWP worked as a camera assistant and production manager in the 1990’s, learning production processes and creative methods from the likes of Howard Guard and Geoff Stark on high profile advertising campaigns, for British Rail, Virgin Atlantic and Nissan.
James was first contracted to film the making of a landmark building in Bishopsgate, London, filming the buildings progress over a 2 year period. Whilst carrying out the contract he provided various promotional films showing the building for the topping out ceremony and for the contractors to use to plug new contracts. Although way before the internet, the mini films were like ‘online content’ material or short form videos giving an insight behind the scenes. These really became our forte, filming and editing ‘making-of’ style programmes for big industrial projects.
Recently we produced a 6x camera live stream for Procurious, and 40 pieces of content for online. We have just created the EPK for Sky TV’s latest show ‘Riviera 3’, filming in St Tropez, Argentina and Venice. We have also created online content for the likes of Swarovski, Investec and a wealth of other brands.
By contact us, your first point of contact, James Ward plans and creates the creative concept and approach to the project. We then work out the production process and whether it is a self-shooter project or requires a larger crew.
Our goal is pure and simple; to be the ‘go to’ agency for our clients branded content and live streaming needs. We simply want to provide the best service to our clients and this is the goal we set when we embark on any project.
